Having a positive mindset is important. Everyone knows though that it is difficult to keep it 100% of the time. With all the B.S. that happens on a day to day, how are you exactly supposed to do that. Let us dive into this deeper on some techniques that can help you maintain that positive energy to keep you in the higher vibration. Wouldn't we all want to know what the exact answer is on what to do when all you want to do is scream and give up?

“Wouldn't we all want to know what the exact answer is on what to do when all you want to do is scream and give up?”
Having positive thinking skills can help shift your mood and keep you on the right track or put you back in the right mindset. We all have that moment that takes us out of our mood, makes you want to scream, go off on someone and that makes you want to be alone. Usually those moments are just seconds in your day that we tend to extend for an entire day, sometimes multiple days because we can't stop thinking about that moment. We replay it over and over again. Let us go over certain things that you can do day to day to handle those moments. When in a positive mindset, situations will be handled better, stress will be kept low, reactions will be more of an understanding and life will flow better.
1. Place sticky notes and pictures in obvious places:
When you wake up in the morning, come home from work or getting ready for bed, having sticky notes with positive affirmations, quotes, pictures of things that make you happy are great reminders that will help you stay in a positive mindset. Place them in the bathroom where you brush your teeth every morning, in the mirror where you get ready, on your nightstand where you keep your phone, on your fridge, your coffee machine or where you keep your car keys. There are plenty of places that you see on a daily basis where you can keep reminders of happiness. Things that you read or see that keep you in the positive mindset.
2. Meditation:
At this point meditation has been proven to have very good effects on your mind and body. There are plenty of studies that you can look up that show just that but unfortunately meditation is still something that is not spoken about enough. No matter what you have going on, take the 5 minutes a day to meditate, focus on the NOW, focus on your breath, let go of everything that has happened and take advantage of a guided meditation. Meditation has been known to help with stress, anxiety, depression and many other health benefits.
3. Self Talk:
This might be one that most think is nuts or you might think other people might think your crazy if they see you do this. Think about it this way, how powerful sometimes are your conversation that you have with someone, when that person is looking at you in the eye and giving you advice, thoughts or feedback on what you are discussing. Having a conversation with yourself can be just as powerful. Look in the mirror, talk to yourself just as if you were having a conversation with someone else. Get down to the root of your issues while looking at yourself right in the eye. Give yourself advice, give yourself positive advice that you need and stay on the positive vibe.
4. Affirmations:
We have all heard of affirmations. How often do you say them, hear them or use them? Making yourself affirmations and saying them out loud on a daily basis keeps you not only focused but with the bigger picture in mind. Do it in the mornings when you first wake up, in the middle of the day when you take a break and at night before you go to sleep. Make it a habit.
5. Do an activity that makes you happy:
We all have the one thing that we love to do. There is always something that makes us smile. Know what that is and do it on a regular basis. These activities no matter what they are will keep you in that positive mindset, will make you forget the hard things and will keep you happy. Going to the beach, being with a friend, going out somewhere or playing a sport. There is something that you can think of. Make it a habit to do it as often as you can.
6. Keep a journal:
Keeping a journal is a great way to stay on a positive mind set. Jot down the moments of accomplishments, plan your day so you can stay on top of things, write down affirmations and things that made you happy that day. Keep track of your thoughts so you can also keep track of when your mood changes. Write it down.
7. Always remember to take a break...a real one:
This at times most people can see as a tough one. We all have those days that we see as so busy that you even forget to eat lunch. Taking a break, a real break, where you are not on the phone with work problems, or answering emails, a break where you actually disconnect from what is happening in your day is important. It is a way to recharge, get in the right mindset again without any interruption. Take your break everyday and keep yourself on track.
8. Listen to Music:
Music is known to change your mood. Make yourself a playlist of the songs that you keep you in that positive mood. That music that makes you get in that "I got this," kind of mindset. We all have those songs that makes us feel we are the best. Put on those headphones, close those eyes, and get in that mentality.
9. Surround yourself with positive people:
We all tend to have people around that we do not know how to disconnect from. Those people that when you see them all you want to do is roll your eyes. They always have a negativity about them. Learn how to stay away and cut these people off. There is nothing worst then surrounding yourself around negative people just to add to any negativity you already may have. It is important to know when to keep your distance.
10. Focus on long term goals and not the short term picture:
Thinking of long term goals and picturing your current situation can be frustrating. Long term goals are exactly that, long term. Which means they take time and that on it's own can get you in a bad mood, knowing that you have to keep pushing and waiting. Remember that all happens in the right time and you will reach that long term goal. Keep telling yourself that and keep picturing in your head that future goal you are striving for. See it, believe it, fight for it and keep pushing.
11. Learn to love being alone:
Being alone is not always easy depending on the perspective you take from it. When you are alone you are keeping yourself from negative energy that comes along with being around people. Remember, people come with energies. When you meet people, when you touch them, energy exchange happens. Detoxing from that is never a bad thing. On the contrary, it is a way for you to detox from all of that energy. Take self time to learn about yourself, to learn to love yourself.
Maintaining a positive mindset is easier said then done. With one or a few of the methods above you can be setting yourself for success. Make your choices on how to keep yourself on that positive energy a habit. By making this a habit instead of those 2 minutes that got you upset, you can turn that around and not let it extend into an entire day. Focus on the positive things, focus on the accomplishments, focus on the goals, focus on yourself. Don't know where to start? JNA can assist. Book your FREE initial consultation.
